There is really no better place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or graduation than your own kitchen and living room. But if the forecast is clear, move the party outside. A party tent creates a defined space for guests and takes the worry out of sudden rain showers. Here is how you can put up a party tent without losing your mind.
Choose a proper location
Before you rent or buy a party tent, go outside and survey the area. Measure the space so you order the right sized tent. It is best to put up a tent on a soft surface like grass or sand. Ensure the ground is fairly level so the tent remains straight and secure.
Lay out the tarp
Get an idea of where to plant the tent’s poles and stakes by laying out the tarp. Place it on the ground with the outside facing up. Use rocks or markers around the perimeter to mark where you will stick the poles.
Assemble the frame
Follow the instructions provided and assemble the frame. Attach the roof to the tent. Then attach the legs to the frame.
Attach the tarp
Throw the tarp over the poles that you have just erected. You may need some help to ensure that the tarp is tightly pulled over every corner.
Fortify the tent
Tie the tarp to stakes in the ground. This will prevent the tarp from coming off the poles and ensure it stays put throughout the party. Your tent will likely come with straps or strings attached to the tarp for just this purpose.
